Quantum Sound at Funkhaus, Berlin

MONOM partners with Mastery on February 14th – World Sound Healing Day. Taking over Saal 1 at Funkhaus, to celebrate the release of the visionary album ‘Quantum Sound’. Quantum Sound was first brought to life by Bianca Mayhew, Cherub Sanson, Tim Wheater & Daniel Avery, with the intention to bring therapeutic sound to the music community. Those with a sharp ear and good taste. We think meditation should be whatever you want it to be, less rules and instructions, just an open heart and open ears… 

The programme opens with a 60 minute holographic listening experience – the Quantum Sound Journey. Opening with Bliss Code 000 – a 15 minute piece where sound healing instrumentals by Cherub Sanson & Tim Wheater, meet modular synthesis by Rommek, blending into ambient and transcendental tracks by Hannah Holland, Djrum, Alessandro Cortini, Wata Igarashi, Manami, Jennifer Loveless & Ruthlss. An all encompassing audio experience, spatialised in 4DSOUND by MONOM.

Emerging from this all-encompassing audio experience, we bring you live performances by Monom co-founder William Russell, with his surreal live show blending piano with the sounds of natural phenomena, followed by London-based artist Ruthlss and her ethereal live set fusing electronics and piano.

After a short interval, attendees will join for a breathwork session of ‘Jon Hopkins – Embodiment Breathing’ (with Fearne Cotton). This twenty-minute piece opens the vinyl edition of the album, and will be spatialized by MONOM in 4DSOUND, marking a key energetic moment in the night. When the audience emerges from the embodying breathwork practice, Jon Hopkins takes over with a longform piano improvisation, with Maddie Ashman on cello, live effects and vocals, and Leo Abrahams on guitar. With the breathwork having prepared both the performers and the listeners, the music will be experienced in a more open, unboundaried state.
