Have you ever participated in a sound bath from the comfort of your own home? Snuggled in your own bed, or on you comfiest couch? Without having to brave the cold, the wind, the snow and the ice?
I’m really looking forward to offering online sound bath meditations again – it’s one of the easiest and best things we can do for ourselves – to not just come out of stress, but also to deeply stimulate our immune system. And winter is the best time to be supporting our immune system, especially when there hasn’t been a lot of sunshine of late…
Perhaps you’ll be taking a trip in the next few weeks…well, if you have an Internet connection, or a cell signal, you can participate even while on vacation! With a smartphone and some earbuds or headphones, or a laptop and a speaker or two, you’re good to go!
The best part is these online sound baths are much more affordable than attending a sound bath in person.

But isn’t attending a sound bath in person better than online?
Many might naturally think so, until they’ve experienced a really good online sound bath.
I have been facilitating online sound bath mediations for the past 6 years, both to the public and to the members of Wellspring, a cancer support centre that provides free, complimentary alternative care, to cancer patients and their caregivers. When the pandemic hit, I had to learn how to do this well over the internet – it required some significant research, and investment in good quality microphones, mic stands, a professional grade mixer and an audio interface to connect everything to my computer. Then came mastering Zoom setting for optimal sound quality. Fortunately I was also able to purchase a Big Sky reverb pedal, which I believe makes my sound baths even better online than in person.

When you’re listening to an online sound bath, you’re always in the perfect place for optimal sound. When you’re in a large room with 20 other people receiving a sound bath, some have better sound quality than others, depending on your proximity to the instruments, and how they are being played.
Some of the people who have experienced my online sound baths have had really remarkable, transformative experiences, and / or powerful and meaningful visions. Just about everyone remarks at feeling really shifted in a positive way – some are really surprised at how relaxed they feel, or how strong emotions, such as fear or grief, came to the surface and were released during the sound bath.

® THE MANY BENEFITS OF SOUND HEALING ®
Sound bath meditations can help bring harmony back to the body, by releasing dissonance, which can manifest as stuck energy releasing suddenly as physical twitching or unleashed emotions.
Low frequency sounds, such as binaural beats, can assist our brains in downshifting to lower brainwave vibrations, producing an altered state of consciousness, or a deep trance-like state.
People who have been meditating for many years can sometimes get into that deep state of relaxation for a prolonged period, but it takes years of practice for most to go, and stay, that deep. It’s much easier to just come to a sound bath! You don’t need any experience, and there are no side effects, although sound baths have been known to be habit forming!
The best news? Slowing down your brain wave vibrations to a deeply meditative state is not only an antidote to stress, it is also
one of the best ways to supercharge your immune system!

® ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR ®
Rufus Glassco is a trilingual Drum Circle Facilitator who specializes in drumming for health and wellness. He is also a Sound Healing Practitioner and a Shamanic Coach, and helps both individuals and large groups to relax, and come into greater resonance and harmony. Rufus puts his experience as a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumental percussionist to use in the soundscapes he weaves together using a variety of sound healing instruments (quartz crystal bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, didgeridoo, tuning forks, handpan, Rav Vast, shruti box, tanpura, swarmandal, native drone flute, ocean drum, tongue drum, frame drum, kalimba, Koshi chimes, tone chimes, ting-shas, and voice). He creates a multi-layered sonic journey that transports sound bathers to a deeply relaxing place.
Rufus studied Source Resonance sound healing with one of Toronto’s sonic pioneers, Darren Austin Hall, in 2018,and decided to go even deeper with another extensive Sound Therapy Training a few months later at The Institute of Traditional Medicine.
